Stamped Concrete in Antelope, CA

Pattern and Color Poured Into Antelope Yards

We pour stamped concrete for Antelope patios, pool decks, walkways and driveways, with pattern and color set before the pour. Stamping presses a stone or wood plank texture into fresh concrete, and a second color gives the pattern depth. As a decorative concrete contractor, we also stain concrete, and both finishes run through our stamped and stained concrete service.

Antelope's northern border sits on the line between Sacramento and Placer counties, a short drive from our work in Roseville. Every stamped project starts with a free estimate: an on-site walk-through, then a written quote. Our contractor license is CSLB #1088628. For every other service we offer here, see our Antelope service page.

Stamped Concrete for Antelope's 1980s and 1990s Homes

Today's Antelope mostly began as a planned community in the late 1980s, with mainly single-family homes and apartments. Census estimates count 15,513 homes here, and 10,281 of them, about two in three, were built between 1980 and 1999. The 1990s added 5,983 homes, more than any other decade. Another 2,652 went up from 2000 to 2009, and just 678 in 2010 or later.

In a town this settled, a stamped project often starts with an older slab. Concrete poured with a 1980 home turns 46 this year, and a slab from 1999 turns 27. Is your patio or front walk still the plain slab that came with the house? Replacing it is the moment to pick a new finish, because the pour has to happen anyway.

About four in five homes here are detached single-family houses. About seven in ten occupied homes are lived in by the people who own them. A replacement is also the time to widen the patio or add steps. We plan each new slab with the steps and drainage around it, so the stamped finish fits the whole yard.

Where Stamped and Decorative Finishes Earn Their Keep

Stamping pays off where your family spends time and where guests look first. Out back, that means a stamped concrete patio off the back door and the deck around a pool. Out front, a stamped entry walkway and steps sets the first impression of the house.

Driveways work too, but they carry car weight. The slab needs proper thickness, reinforcement, a compacted base and correctly spaced control joints. A stamped border or entry band on a new concrete driveway adds curb appeal while the main field stays plain.

Slate and flagstone patterns are among the most popular, with brick and wood plank close behind. Seamless stamps add texture without joint lines, for a quieter look. Color comes in layers: a base color in the mix or on the surface, then a second shade for contrast. Restraint helps, since one pattern and two colors carried from the patio to the pool deck tie the yard together.

A stamped slab also makes a good floor for a wood pergola or patio cover built with it. One reviewed project included a "raised stamped slab with pergola" inside a larger backyard build. Our stamped concrete patio ideas show more layouts and color pairings.

What Changes When Stamped Work Reaches the Street?

Antelope has no city government of its own. It is an unincorporated part of Sacramento County, ZIP 95843. A 1993 vote set its boundaries and town name, and the town designation began July 1, 1994.

That matters once stamped work reaches the street. The Sacramento County Department of Transportation, known as SacDOT, reviews construction work within the County right of way. Its team handles encroachment permits and driveway permits for roadways in the unincorporated area.

The driveway approach meets the street, so ask SacDOT about a new or wider approach before any pour. A stamped patio or walk inside your lot line is a separate matter. We talk through both at the on-site walk-through, before the written quote.

Keeping Stamped Concrete Sharp in Valley Heat

Summers in the Sacramento area are hot and dry. The average year in Sacramento brings 76 days at 90 degrees or hotter, and 14 days at 100 or more. Sunlight and traffic wear down sealer over time, and worn sealer lets the surface fade and take stains.

Sealer is the main upkeep. Concrete Network puts resealing at every two to five years, depending on traffic and climate. The first seal coat typically goes on after the concrete cures, usually about 28 days after the pour.

Between seal coats, a garden hose or pressure washer handles basic cleaning. Regular cleaning and resealing keep color change to a minimum, and can often bring faded color back.

Around a pool, grip matters more than shine. Stamped texture is often more slip resistant than plain concrete. It can still get slippery when wet, or under a film-forming sealer. A non-slip additive mixed into the sealer adds traction where bare feet meet pool water.

How We Work

How a Project With RMR Runs

From the first look at the site to the final walk-through, here is exactly how it goes.

1

Walk the Project

We look at the space in person: grades, drainage, access, what comes out and what goes in. You talk directly with the people who will build it, not a salesman.

2

Written Quote

You get a clear written price for the full scope (concrete, walls, turf, irrigation, the whole build) with finish options laid out so you can decide what fits the budget.

3

We Build It

Proper base prep, forms, reinforcement and drainage before anything gets poured or planted. The crew shows up when we say, keeps the site clean, and communicates every step.

4

Final Walkthrough

We walk the finished project together: finishes, cleanup, care instructions for new concrete and turf. Done means you have looked at every part of it and said so.

How much does stamped concrete cost in Antelope?
We price each job in a written quote after a free on-site walk-through. Concrete Network puts basic stamped concrete, one pattern and one color, at $10 to $14 per square foot. Mid-range work with borders and extra colors runs $14 to $20. LawnStarter's typical range is $9 to $16.25. These are published guide ranges, and our stamped concrete cost guide covers what moves the price.
Is stamped concrete a good choice around a pool?
Yes, with the right finish. Stamped texture is often more slip resistant than plain concrete, and a non-slip additive in the sealer adds more traction. Chlorine and sunscreen spills can harm a pool deck, so plan on resealing it every two to five years. Glossier sealers can get slippery when wet, so a lower sheen suits the deck. Our concrete pool deck page covers how we build the deck itself.
Does stamped concrete crack?
It can. Like all concrete, stamped concrete can develop minor cracks. Correctly spaced control joints help prevent random cracking, and driveways also need proper thickness and reinforcement over a well-compacted base. Sealer helps keep water out of the slab, and water in the slab can lead to cracking. When you compare bids, ask each stamped concrete contractor where the control joints will go.
What is the difference between stamped and decorative concrete?
Decorative concrete is the wider family of finishes. Stamped concrete is one of them, patterned and textured to look like stone, brick, slate, tile or wood. Stained concrete is another. We handle both, so one walk-through and one written quote can cover every decorative surface in your plan.
Who handles driveway approach permits in Antelope?
SacDOT, the Sacramento County Department of Transportation. Antelope is unincorporated, so there is no city permit office. SacDOT reviews construction work within the County right of way, and its team handles driveway permits and encroachment permits. If your plan touches the approach at the street, check with SacDOT before any pour. We cover it at the on-site walk-through.
Can stamped concrete be part of a full backyard remodel?
Yes, and the order of work matters. Grade and drainage come first, then underground irrigation and conduit. Concrete and walls follow, then turf, sod, rock and planting. Irrigation lines and conduit that cross under the slab go in before the pour. Planning the stamped slab inside a complete backyard remodel keeps later work from cutting into new concrete.

We used RMR for a pretty large project. Full back yard patio of concrete, raised stamped slab with pergola, turf with concrete steps, retaining wall on the side, front patio all in concrete, a lot of rock and a ton of plants and a tree. They did an absolutely amazing job and more importantly, everything was done correctly.

Jose and his team just completed a whole backyard for us — and did a great job. They consistently showed up when they said they would, were fairly priced, and did exactly what we asked for with great communication. A member of Jose’s team even smoothed a little patch of our newly poured concrete so our kids could make handprints.
