El Dorado Hills was built on hills, and its yards prove it. From the original 1960s villages to Serrano and Blackstone, lots here come with grade, and grade decides everything: where a patio can sit, what holds the slope above it, and how water moves when the rain comes.
RMR builds outdoor spaces for exactly this terrain: terraced walls that turn slope into usable flat, patios engineered around the grade, turf on the benches between, and steps that connect it all. Licensed CSLB #1088628.

A flat-town contractor sees a hillside lot as a problem. We see the project: cut a bench, hold it with a properly drained wall, and the unusable back slope becomes a patio with a view. Walls above four feet bring engineering and permits into play, and we plan for that from the first walk-through rather than discovering it mid-build.
Every wall we build gets drainage behind it, because on a slope, trapped water is the thing that moves walls.
Down the hill, contractors fight clay. Up here the ground turns to decomposed granite and shallow soil over rock, which drains better but digs harder. Footings, wall bases and post holes meet rock where the map says dirt, and pricing a foothill job honestly means knowing that before the excavator shows up.
We quote El Dorado Hills work with the ground conditions priced in, and county permitting through Placerville handled as part of the job.
Serrano, Blackstone, The Promontory and most newer villages review outdoor changes before you build. Materials, colors and wall heights all get looked at. We produce the plans and finish specs the committee wants to see, and our stamped and stained finishes give you the upgraded look those neighborhoods expect.
The older villages, Stonegate and Governors among them, mostly skip the committee. Either way the work is built to the same standard.

We used RMR for a pretty large project. Full back yard patio of concrete, raised stamped slab with pergola, turf with concrete steps, retaining wall on the side, front patio all in concrete, a lot of rock and a ton of plants and a tree. They did an absolutely amazing job and more importantly, everything was done correctly.Google review · June 17, 2026
Jose and his team just completed a whole backyard for us — and did a great job. They consistently showed up when they said they would, were fairly priced, and did exactly what we asked for with great communication. A member of Jose’s team even smoothed a little patch of our newly poured concrete so our kids could make handprints.Google review · April 2, 2026
Jose and his team are incredible! They’re easy to communicate with, and gets the job done efficiently. We hired them for our entire landscaping project and they are fairly priced. We did concrete, decorative rock, irrigation drip system, sprinklers, grass and he even planted trees & plants for us! Highly recommend.Google review · May 8, 2026

The transformation from before to after is incredible, and our backyard now looks clean, beautiful, and very well done.Google review · January 21, 2026
My backyard has a bit of an incline, which I thought would be a challenge, but they handled it without any issues. Jose and his team really took their time to listen to what I wanted. The team was professional, reliable, and worked efficiently to get everything done on time. The end result exceeded my expectations.Google review · February 2, 2025
