Elk Grove grew faster than almost any city in America in the mid-2000s, and it is still building: over a thousand new single-family permits in 2024, concentrated in Laguna Ridge and the Southeast Policy Area. A builder backyard is a one-time opportunity. Hardscape, drainage and irrigation go in easiest while the ground is open, and every trade after that builds on top. We design the whole yard first, then pour, pipe and plant in sequence, so nothing gets torn up twice and the finished space works as one piece.
From Laguna Ridge to East Franklin, the lots share soils and grading patterns, and we know where the water wants to sit. Getting that right up front is the difference between a yard that performs through its first winter and one that ponds by December.
The city is not all new. Laguna West and Foulks Ranch are approaching thirty years old, Old Town keeps homes from another century, and Sheldon runs to multi-acre estate lots. Driveways and patios from the first build-out are cracking on schedule.
We replace them properly: full tear-out, compacted base, and a new driveway or stamped finish that upgrades the original instead of copying it.
Elk Grove water comes from different providers depending on where you live, and turf-removal rebate programs here have come and gone; the county agency's program was paused in 2026. Do not build your budget around a rebate. Build it around the bill: a lawn irrigated through a Valley summer costs real money every year, and artificial turf ends that line item while staying green through August.
